Hitoko Urago is a painter based in Osaka, Japan.
Her paintings emerge through a process shaped by gesture, gravity, and the movement of paint. Instinctive actions interact with underlying structures, allowing the surface to develop as a space where organic movement and balance continuously respond to one another.
Urago studied painting at Chelsea College of Arts (UAL) and Slade School of Fine Art (UCL) in London. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including London, Brighton, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka.
She currently lives and works in Osaka, Japan.
